Savory Puff Pastry with Minced Meat and Cheese

 

  • 1 egg

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp sugar

For Serving (Optional):

  • 2 tbsp sour cream

  • 1 tbsp French mustard

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, mix together:

  • Minced meat

  • 1 egg

  • Grated onion

  • Chopped pepper

  • Grated carrot

  • Parsley & dill

  • Flour, sauce, curry powder, salt & pepper
    Mix until fully combined. Set aside.

2. Roll Out Puff Pastry

  • Lightly flour your work surface.

  • Roll out the pastry into a thin sheet.

  • Cut into rectangles or squares.

3. Assemble the Pastries

  • Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each pastry piece.

  • Add a sprinkle of cheese if using.

  • Fold over and seal the edges (use a fork or pinch).

  • Place on a greased or parchment-lined baking tray.

4. Apply Egg Wash

Whisk together:

  • 1 egg

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp sugar
    Brush the tops of the pastries with egg wash.

5. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 200°C (392°F).

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
