Preparation method:
- Preparing the starter: In a bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, and a few tablespoons of warm water. Set aside for 10 minutes, or until the starter begins to foam.
- Kneading the dough: Sift the flour and salt into a large bowl. Make a well in the center and add the starter, remaining water, and olive oil. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- First rise: Form the dough into a ball and place it in an oiled bowl. Cover with a cloth and set aside in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Shaping the bread: After the dough has risen, gently deflate it by kneading it briefly. Shape it into a loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- Second rising: Let the loaf rise for another 30 minutes.
- Baking: Preheat oven to 220°C (420°F). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, until the crust is golden brown. Once baked, let it cool on a wire rack.
