Preheat oven to 170 °C (340 °F).
Line a 22×22 cm baking dish with foil, leaving overhang. Lightly grease.
Layer as follows:
Half of the zucchini
Half of the meat mixture
All the potatoes
Remaining meat mixture
Remaining zucchini
Drizzle sauce over top
6. Bake
Cover tightly with foil.
Bake 50 minutes at 170 °C (340 °F).
Remove foil, sprinkle cheese on top.
Increase oven to 180 °C (355 °F). Bake uncovered 10–15 minutes until cheese is golden.
7. Serve
Rest 10 minutes before slicing to allow layers to set.
Serve warm with salad or crusty bread.
