👩🍳 Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven:
Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper. Make sure the oven is fully preheated before you start preparing the roulades.
2. Prepare the puff pastry:
Roll out a sheet of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Try to shape the dough into a rectangle to make it easier to roll. If the dough is too thin, gently roll it out, but don’t overdo it, as it will become brittle.
3. Layer the ingredients:
If you choose Dijon mustard, spread a thin layer of mustard on the dough. Then arrange the ham slices evenly, covering the entire surface of the dough. After the ham, sprinkle with grated cheese, distributing it evenly over the entire surface of the dough. You can use any type of cheese: cheddar, mozzarella, or even a mix of the two – depending on your taste preferences.
4. Roll up the dough:
Begin rolling the dough from one of the long edges, trying to make it as tight as possible. Make sure the roll is sealed securely. If the dough isn’t sticking, you can gently press the edges to secure it. Once you’ve finished rolling, gently press the edge to ensure the roll doesn’t unravel during baking.
