Instructions
Prepare the Cake
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix and pudding mix.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, vanilla, oil, sour cream (or buttermilk), and coffee.
- Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.
Make the Ganache Frosting
- Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat.
- Whisk in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, vanilla, milk, and walnuts.
- Simmer gently, stirring until smooth and glossy.
- Let cool slightly before spreading over cooled cake.
Serve
- Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
- For extra indulgence, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
