In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, onion, garlic, egg, and breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Form medium-sized meatballs and place them side by side in a gratin dish.
To make the sauce:
In a bowl, combine the cream and chicken broth. Season with a little salt and pepper.
Pour this mixture evenly over the meatballs in the gratin dish.
To cook:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.
