In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion together until the beef is browned and the onions are tender—about 5–6 minutes.
2. Drain & Add Flavor
Drain excess grease if needed. Stir in the BBQ sauce, mustard, black pepper, and uncooked instant rice. Mix until everything is evenly coated.
3. Add the Broth
Pour in the broth and give it another stir to combine all the flavors.
4. Top with Cheese
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the mixture.
5. Simmer to Finish
Cover the skillet and reduce heat to low. Let simmer for 5–7 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and the cheese is melted and gooey.
6. Garnish & Serve
Top with crispy crumbled bacon and green onions, if using. Serve hot and dig in!
